Guy was born in Holland and lives in
Brussels, Belgium since 1987. He studied aeronautical engineering but his secret garden has always been
Art. He was brought up with fine art and from the late 1980's he visited more
and more galleries and museums.
Looking at paintings became a natural need and he enjoyed
looking at paintings from a technical point of view ("how did the painter create
the softness of the velvet or the transparency of the glass" or "why
is this composition so strong?" he asked himself...) and what the painting
provoked in him ("Why does it give me emotions of joy, respect or why did
it take away my breath?").
Guy has frequently traveled in Europe, The United States
of America and Japan and has visited many museums on his trips, when time
allowed.
Guy started painting from the age of 35, simply out of
curiosity to try and render the subject as realistic as possible, set a mood and continuously
trying to set higher challenges and to enjoy painting.
Since last year he is taking art lessons in Atelier Malou
in Brussels and paints in acrylic. This medium he finds perfect for a modern
approach to his endeavors.
We hope you will visit this blog on a regular basis as
Guy produces a painting a week. His works are for sale and hope you will find they will enrich your interior.
